Confidentiality
Your privacy is something I take very seriously. Unless otherwise required by law, the information in your record is kept confidential and won't be shared with anyone without your written permission. The following situations are exceptions to confidentiality:
If you tell your therapist that you intend to harm yourself or someone else, they are legally obligated to take all reasonable precautions to protect both your safety and the safety of others. It might be necessary to inform the potential victim, family members, parents, guardians, and/or the legal system.
If a court issues a subpoena for your therapist, they must turn over your records.
In addition to the aforementioned circumstances, there are a number more where confidentiality cannot be guaranteed, including
If you submit a request for the disclosure of your records.
If you are a minor (under the age of 18) or unable to give your consent voluntarily, your guardian must give written consent and have access to your records.
